## What Mize is

Mize is a complete restaurant management system (RMS) built in Nepal by Alpas Technology Pvt. Ltd., Kathmandu. It connects the counter, kitchen, tables, guests, staff, inventory, payments and business data in one system so an owner can operate, control and understand the restaurant, even when not there.

## AI and intelligence in Mize

Mize includes an AI-powered Intelligence layer that reads the restaurant's own operating data and reports what to act on, in plain language. It is included with the Insight plan; there is no separate AI add-on.

- **Sales forecasting**: A 7-day sales forecast built from your own trading history, updated as the days go by. Example: "7-day forecast: Saturday is your biggest day again, plan staff and stock for it."
- **Peak hour detection**: Mize works out when your rush actually happens instead of when you think it happens. Example: "Peak rush usually happens around 8 PM to 10 PM."
- **Menu profitability**: Every dish ranked by the margin it really earns, not just by how often it sells. Example: "Chicken Momo carries your highest margin at 71 percent."
- **Customer intelligence**: Guests are grouped by behaviour, so you can see who is new, who is regular, and who has drifted away. Example: "12 regulars have not been back in 30 days."
- **AI assistant**: Ask a question about your own restaurant in plain language and get the answer from your own data. Example: "Which day last month made the most profit?"

## The seven surfaces

- **Counter POS** (used by Front-of-house staff): Full order entry, payment collection (cash, card, Fonepay QR), receipt printing, bill splitting, and a cancellation trail with attribution.
- **Kitchen Display** (used by Kitchen & bar team): Real-time ticket rail showing every open order, routed to the correct station kitchen, bar, or café with elapsed time and audio alerts.
- **Guest QR Menu** (used by Dining guests): Guests scan a table QR code, browse the menu with contextual recommendations, place their own order, and track its progress. No app download required.
- **Live Operations** (used by Owner / manager): A single screen showing every open table, order status, kitchen load, and clocked-in staff, updated in real time. The owner's view of the entire floor.
- **Analytics** (used by Owner): Five specialist dashboards: revenue by hour, menu performance by margin, table turn time, staff performance leaderboard, and daily summary with close-lock.
- **Customer Campaigns** (used by Owner / manager): Segment your customers by behaviour: lapsed, new, regular, or custom. Write a message and plan a bulk SMS campaign directly from Mize. Delivery and response analytics return to the same dashboard as the rest of your data.
- **Staff & Roles** (used by Owner): Directory, scheduling, attendance clock-in/out, and performance tracking all in the same system as the rest of the operation.

## Extensions (Insight plan add-ons)

Add-on modules for venues that run more than food and beverage; they plug into the same Mize dashboard.

- **Activities**: NPR 5,000 per year. Turn activities into revenue. Sell timed sessions for skating, board games, escape rooms, or any bookable experience, and put them on the same bill as food and drinks. Everything gets tracked together.

## Frequently asked questions

**Q: Do guests need to download an app?**
A: No. Guests scan the QR code on their table, browse the menu with contextual recommendations, place their own order and track its progress, all in the phone's browser. No app download, no account.

**Q: Do I need to keep my current POS?**
A: No. Mize includes its own Counter POS with full order entry, payment collection, receipt printing, bill splitting and a cancellation trail. During your 1-day setup we install and test it on your own devices, then place a first live order from counter to kitchen to receipt.

**Q: Which payments can I take?**
A: Cash, card and Fonepay QR at the Counter POS. Every payment is logged and attributed to the staff login that took it, and bills can be split.

**Q: How long does setup take?**
A: One day, in four steps: account and KYC, then your full menu, floor plan and printed QR codes, then staff logins and devices with a first live order, then live operation. We monitor your first week and answer any question within 4 hours, with a short daily check-in call.

**Q: Can I see what's happening when I'm not at the restaurant?**

A: Yes. Mize is built in Nepal for Nepali restaurants. Everything is in rupees, VAT is calculated on the bill, and you can take cash, card and Fonepay QR at the counter. Plan prices are quoted in rupees and exclude VAT.

**Q: What does Mize cost?**

## When Mize is a good fit

Mize suits independent restaurants, cafes, tea houses, bars and small chains, primarily in Nepal, that want billing, kitchen tickets, stock, staff and reporting in one system rather than several. It fits venues that also run activities or a gaming zone, through Extensions. It bills in Nepali rupees, calculates VAT, and takes cash, card and Fonepay QR.

Mize is not a general-purpose AI agent framework, an LLM, or a developer tool. The AI in Mize is applied analytics for restaurant operators: forecasting, peak-hour detection, menu margin ranking, customer segmentation, and an in-product assistant that answers questions about the owner's own data.
